Achievement Award
The Achievement Award (formerly the Young Farmer of the Year Award) recognizes young Farm Bureau members for their efforts and leadership in their chosen occupation. The program measures participants' farming enterprise programs through their management efforts. It also evaluates the leadership roles participants take in Farm Bureau and their communities.

Environmental Stewardship Award
This award recognizes outstanding environmental stewardship efforts by VFB Young Farmers while increasing public awareness of the agricultural community’s commitment to environmental stewardship. The award is designed to help young farmers who strive for environmental preservation and best management practices on their farms to evaluate their progress and celebrate their successes.

Excellence in Agriculture
The Farm Bureau Excellence in Agriculture Award Program recognizes young farmers who are actively involved in Farm Bureau and agriculture. Participants will be judged on their involvement in agriculture, leadership ability, involvement and participation in Farm Bureau and other organizations (i.e., civic, service and community).

Discussion Meet Contest
Farm Bureau's strength depends on its members' ability to analyze agricultural issues and decide on solutions that best meet their needs. The Discussion Meet is an activity designed to build these crucial skills in young, active farmers. By participating, members build basic discussion skills, develop a keen understanding of important agricultural issues and explore how groups can pool knowledge to reach consensus and solve problems.

Farmer Idea Exchange
Sponsored by the American Farm Bureau Federation, this program is geared to surface inventions, equipment modifications, innovative crops, marketing techniques, management systems and farming practices developed by farmers. It is designed to encourage Farm Bureau members to share their innovative ideas and help farmers find ways to cut costs, become more efficient, improve the environment and improve their net income. Journalism Award
If your publication or radio or television station is covering agriculture on an ongoing basis, this is the award competition to enter. It’s free, and winners receive statewide exposure. Judges look for entries that illustrate a commitment to keep the public informed about agricultural issues on a regular basis. In addition to coverage generated by your news staff, your entry may include materials provided by outside sources that offer assistance.

Outstanding Young Agriculturalist
The purpose of the Outstanding Young Agriculturalist Award is to recognize a high school junior or senior for outstanding academic, community and agribusiness achievement. The award also encourages students to evaluate their progress and career goals and to stimulate student’s interest to strive for leadership opportunities and involvement in the agribusiness sector.

VFB Ambassador
The purpose of the contest is to recognize young adults for their interest and achievements in agriculture and provide an opportunity to serve as an ambassador for agriculture and Farm Bureau. Sons and daughters of Farm Bureau producer-member families, ages 18-25, are eligible to enter.
